My name is Julian Parks and I've been making sushi professionally for over 12 years. I'm originally from South Florida, however, I moved out to Santa Cruz, California in 2014 after graduating from high school in order to pursue my dreams of becoming a professional surfer. I had very high expectations for myself in terms of my capacity to perform at this level and thought I could make it happen.
Unfortunately, things didn't work out the way I would have liked in that regard, but I'm extremely grateful for the journey that this dream has allowed me to embark upon. After a few years of living in Santa Cruz, I ended up moving down to Oceanside where I recently completed an Associates degree in Accounting, Liberal Arts w/ a focus on Math & Science, and Business Administration at the local community college, Mira Costa. Currently, I'm located in Santa Barbara where I'll be studying Economics & Accounting at UCSB!
In addition to my experience with Japanese food, I've also spent time working with french cuisine in a well established restaurant that partially specializes in working with seafood. As of last December, Juene Et Jolie
in Carlsbad, California, maintained its Michelin star and is well on the way to obtaining a second.
